Facebook 1.7 is now available for the BlackBerry

Just downloaded my copy of Facebook 1.7 for my BlackBerry. You can download the update at blackberry.com/facebook or m.facebook.com from your BlackBerry’s browser. Key features for 1.7 include:

  • Caching Improvements – The application uses the device memory more efficiently
  • News Feed Filters – The ability to toggle between ‘News Feed, Status Updates, Photos & Links’
  • Feed Pre-fetching – The user will not be required to wait while their Facebook Feeds are updated

I’m really enjoying the enhanced features and the ability to filter a lot of my the content on my BlackBerry. Don’t really care for the ability to view my own profile, but that’s just me. I’m hoping there is a way to speed up the loading of ones friends list. It still hangs a bit with this update. I only have 138 friends and figured it would be faster by now. However, I’m happy with the new update and can’t wait for the next one.
