Mobile in Canada
I was reading a post today; Canadian Banks Look to Smartphones for Mobile Banking’s Future and it got me thinking about a post (U.S. Leading the Global Mobile Data Boom) I saw a few days ago covering the mobile industry from a global perspective. It’s great to see RBC and Scotiabank offering some services but the real problem I believe is that we aren’t getting fully involved in mobile. We are dipping our toe in at best and not giving it our all.
Mobile banking is a good start. But more buisness need to develop mobile apps where we can buy online, and cater to the Canadain market. We may be a small market but we are a social market as well. If we like something, we’ll tell all our friends and send more business your way. I’m really looking forward to foursquare lunching in Toronto, I think it’ll show Canadian businesses the great potential there is in the Canadian market. It just launched in Vancouver 3 weeks ago and should be in Toronto before the end of year.
